My name’s Nicky, and I really like words. I’ve worked as an editor, proofreader, writer and transcriber.
Outside of work, I can often be found reading or writing. I am currently seeking a publisher for my YA novel, set in Scarborough, Ontario, in 1994. My work-in-progress is a modern gothic story set in eastern Canada, written for an adult audience.
This blog is where I post things I’ve written about books I’ve read, the writing process, punctuation or anything else having to do with words.
A note about my book reviews
All of the books I review on this blog are books I’ve acquired personally; I don’t receive copies from publishers in exchange for reviews. I’ve decided to review only books I really loved–the ones I want to rave about to other readers. That being said, I don’t write about every single book I’ve enjoyed. What can I say? I guess sometimes I’d just rather be reading than reviewing.
Hey Nicky,
Just read about the letter you are writing to your Grandmother. I know that she will love it. It shows that you took the time to think about her. I remember having penpals when I was in school and also writing to our cousin Peggy. We wrote to each other on a regular basis for many years. Not sure what happen to all those letters. Would’ve been fun to read them now. Hope all is well with you.
